Popsicle Bridge Challenge - Designing, Planning, and Building

Students were given "gift baskets" with the needed materials to build a bridge out of popsicle sticks.

Using only 100 popsicle sticks (80 small, 20 large), 5 hot glue sticks, 3 meters string, students build a bridge to withstand the greatest amount of weight. Bridges must be at least 5cm wide and be able to span a length of 40cm. They can be any height, and the only requirement is that weights can be easily placed on, or suspended from the middle.

Weights will either be placed on top of the bridge, or will be suspended by a strong cord or cords below depending on the practicality of the design.
