On March 23, the students had a Real Rockin good time as two local bands played a concert for the school at Dansereau Meadows. It was awesome!

Student Teacher?
A student who thinks he is the teacher? This student looked a little too comfortable in my chair when I came in after recess.
Group Science Test Redo
Rather than "go over" the answers to the Science Test on the board, students were given a blank test and asked to go over the answers they recorded in groups to compare answers and decide which answers are the best. I decided to take the better of the two tests for marks.

The Insulation Heat Challenge
The solar stove challenge: Students will be provided a heat lamp as a source of heat. Students use materials to build a stove to collect radiant heat from the lamps. They can use any materials necessary to maximize the heat. Students will place the stove (oven) under the lamp for 20 minutes. The challenge will be to have the greatest heat change (hottest temperature).
The thermos challenge: Students will be given a plastic cup for which they can surround in insulating material, and make a lid. Hot water will be poured inside of the plastic cup, and temperature measured. After twenty minutes the temperature of the water will be measured again. The challenge is to have the least amount of temperature change from beginning to end.
Premier Basketball Boys
It was my privilege to assistant coach the Premier Boys Basketball Team this year with Mr P. The boys did great and we really grew together as a team. Here are a few pictures and videos from their very last game.

Algebra Math Game
Students used a deck of cards to reinforce concepts of solving for the unknown variable in algebra. Students each place a card face up on their side of the equal sign, and then one student places a card face down representing the unknown variable on one side of the equal sign. Students quickly race to find unknown value of that variable. Black cards are negative, Red are positive.
